Primary Recruitment FAQs
When can I participate in Primary Recruitment?
Ball State University exclusively holds primary sorority recruitment during the fall semester. The recruitment week for 2024 is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, ending with Bid Day on Sunday, September 8, 2024. It's essential to recognize that BSU Panhellenic does not facilitate organized spring recruitment events.
Can I go through Primary Recruitment as a Freshman or Transfer Student?
All Ball State University students are eligible to participate in sorority recruitment provided that (1) they are enrolled or planned to be enrolled and are in good standing with Ball State, (2) have never been initiated into one of the sororities at BSU, (3) register through the recruitment link and pay the registration fee before the deadline. *Please note some chapter’s National Policies may require members to be full time students.
Does participation in Primary Recruitment guarantee an offer for membership?
Participation in Ball State Panhellenic Primary Recruitment does not imply or ensure membership. Each sorority and its members independently determine membership, free from influence or control by the Ball State Panhellenic Association or Office of Student Life.
If I decide not to participate, can I get my registration fee refunded?
Unfortunately, all registration fees are nonrefundable, and there are no exceptions to this policy. We strongly advise individuals to carefully consider this before proceeding with the registration for recruitment.
What is the MRABA?
The MRABA, short for "Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement," is a document you'll sign post-Preference Rounds but before receiving a bid from any chapter. It offers you the choice to either opt out of recruitment or accept a bid from the sororities you visited during Preference Rounds. You'll then prioritize the sorority or sororities from which you're willing to accept a bid. If you sign the MRABA but decide not to join the sorority offering you a bid, you're unable to join another chapter until the subsequent primary recruitment period.
Does Ball State University need a copy of my high school or college transcript?
Upon completing the application, you will input your high school or college GPA. A representative from FSL will then verify the information with the University's records.
